20 Most Addictive Video Games Of The Decade (So Far)
18. Destiny
It might have had one of the worst launches this generation, but the core of Destiny - the immaculately play-tested way it feels to run, shoot and deploy your powers - is exquisite. It always was.
Don't forget, Bungie brought the world Halo. They've got a developer's pedigree like no other - a level of quality to the way their games that not even a total lack of content could dissuade from recognising.
As such, the genuinely addictive loop of running missions, nabbing loot, buddying up with friends and dynamically dropping into other peoples' games is sublime, resulting in the average hour count for all Destiny players to be, wait for it, 500 hours.
Yes, really.
Time will tell if Bungie can tag a story onto Destiny 2 that's worthy of their namesake, but thankfully, the act of actually playing Destiny is already beyond perfect.
