6. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

After the success of the original Final Fantasy 7 Remake, we have high expectations for the follow-up.
FF7 Remake was a long way from perfect, but it overcame its flaws through the strength of its characters, enjoyable combat and writing that wasn't afraid to lean into the weirder aspects of the original Final Fantasy 7. (Fighting a homicidal house in front of a baying crowd was a particular highlight). And given how utterly insane Remake's ending was, we're guessing staying weird won't be a problem for the upcoming Rebirth.
With Square Enix apparently looking to push Final Fantasy 7's story in a whole new direction, we find ourselves genuinely intrigued to see where they will take the story next. Altering the holy text of Final Fantasy's most revered entry may be sacrilegious to some, but we are fully on board with Nomura and co.'s retelling of Cloud's story.
We have no idea what to expect with FF7 Rebirth, but whatever happens it certainly won't be boring.
