Death Stranding is one of the most brilliantly beguiling video games of the past decade, and given Hideo Kojima's penchant for delivering expectation-defying sequels that thoroughly one-up what came before, why expect any different here?

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach looks as eye-wateringly beautiful and narratively head-spinning as anything Kojima has made before, with a similar emphasis on open-world exploration, stealth, and combat.

Though the original game proved relatively divisive upon release, its esteem has grown considerably in the years since, with many coming to appreciate its greater emphasis on puzzle-like traversal over relentless action.

Considering what a breath of fresh air this was, hopefully Death Stranding 2 won't up the action ante too much at the expense of its meditative qualities. Either way, it's going to be one hell of a wild ride, that's for sure.
