20 Most Intense Video Game Moments Of The Decade
12. Alien: Isolation - Being Chased By The Xenomorph
This is arguably the least narrative entry on the list, seeing as it only really happens when you mess up. Considering the nature of the game though, it's designed for you to make a mistake, be heard by the Xenomorph and be forced to run for your life.
One of the decade's best horror games, Alien: Isolation is a breathlessly claustrophobic experience, leaving you to out think (and often out run) one of the most powerful, most ruthless creatures in pop culture history.
Unfortunately, stealth horrors form a niche genre and are difficult to add microtransactions to, so despite critical praise, Alien: Isolation had only average sales figures and will likely not see a sequel.
That's a real shame because no game this decade got your heart pumping like Alien: Isolation. Once the Xenomorph heard you, it mercilessly tracks you, forcing you to flee in a hurry and find a place to hide.
Watching it creep past the cupboard you're hiding in, praying it won't notice you gave you white knuckles. If you were terrible at the game, it did lose its sting and get annoying by the end, but the first time it caught you was enough for a heart attack.
