20 Most Overrated Pokémon In History
18. Pidgeot
Nostalgia is a big thing where Pokémon games are concerned. Admittedly I always hold a soft spot for the likes of the Pidgey and Weedle that were my first ever catches way back in Pokémon Red but, when competitive battling is on the table, that has to be left firmly in the past.
Pidgeot is a Pokémon that a lot of people have an affinity for, but this is an outdated choice now since subsequent generations of the games have introduced superior versions of the Flying type. Diamond & Pearl's Staraptor, for example, boasts a more boisterous physical approach and a greater HP.
This latter stat is particularly useful for a type that traditionally doesn't offer trainers much in the way of staying power. The extra damage Staraptor can withstand can often be the difference between success and failure; why would you take a chance on Pidgeot when there's a stronger alternative available?
