20 Most Powerful Video Game Weapons Ever

18. Wailing Dark (Asura's Wrath)

Merica Saints Row Iv
Capcom

Just because you don't ever directly use this weapon, doesn't exclude it from the list.

Asura's Wrath - so long as you forgive the truly horrendous abuse of DLC - has to be one of the most impressively realized concepts Capcom has ever accomplished since Megaman. A fascinatingly subversive take on Hindu mythology, featuring a fully realized science fantasy universe of gods, monsters and machines.

It also has the sword Wailing Dark, which might be one of the most insane swords ever put to fiction.

Again, you can't actually play with it yourself, but the sword is so damn cool it warrants a spot purely on that metric alone. This sword can cut through anything, can grow infinitely (even going straight through the planet after being launched from the surface of the moon at one point), and is nigh indestructible. And when wielded by the fearsome Augus of the seven deities, it becomes even deadlier as the seasoned warrior wields it with the precision of a long range sniper.

This sword is the centerpiece of the most famous fight scene from Asura's Wrath, and probably the reason it is so well remembered. Especially when you take into account the competition the rest of this game gives it.
