17. Rogue Legacy

It's always over to the lower budgeted titles and developers to fly the flag for innovation, and for Cellar Door's Rogue Legacy, they created a killer Castlevania tribute that doubles as a pioneer for the newest genre on the block; roguelikes. Putting you in the shoes of an entire bloodline of knights, you'll have to pick a new hero every time, but whilst you'll inherit all your parents' wealth and property (equalling abilities and armour), certain humorous attributes such as chronic flatulence, short-sightedness or even seeing the world upside down provide quite the challenge. There are seemingly endless combinations of the aforementioned traits mixing with more helpful ones such as health boosts or magic attacks, and as the castle you're tackling is randomly generated every time, Rogue Legacy manages to redefine the age-old "just one more go" mentality into something truly loveable.
