20 Most Terrifying Enemies In Video Game History

2. Every Hunter In Carcer City- Manhunt

Manhunt PS
Rockstar

Only Rockstar can craft a world so dark, so brutal, so morally depraved that a 'recently executed' death row inmate with a penchant for dismemberment comes out looking like a saint.

But I suppose that's not too difficult when you're surrounded by murderous gangs who differ from each other mainly in their methods of evisceration (and perhaps which limbs they decorate their cakes with).

All of that is what makes these personality-deficient killers so damn terrifying - they've got giant holes blown through most of the emotional machinery that keeps us (presumably) normal folk functioning in peak condition. Even the "tamest" gang of the lot - the Hoods - is at the very least completely sociopathic. And those guys are only there because they've got bills to pay, never mind the kind of stuff that fuels the rest of these charmers.

From seething racist hatred to full-blown schizophrenia, the psychos in Manhunt come in all shapes, sizes and flavors - with some satanism and cannibalism sprinkled in for good measure. Playing Manhunt feels like watching a time-lapse video of humanity's soul as it's slowly stripped of civilization until there's nothing left but a rotten core.

Unrestrained barbarism with none of the extraneous bits - and nowhere is this better personified than Piggsy: a hulking, grotesque beast of a 'man' who rid himself of sanity a long time ago. There's nothing left even resembling humanity in Piggsy anymore, just pure id.
