20 Most Under-Appreciated Video Games Of The Decade (So Far)

17. No Man's Sky

No Mans Sky Atlas Rises
Hello Games

Chastised and derided for not being anything close to the version we were once promised pre-launch, even after No Man's Sky hit shelves it had a good chunk of content for those who enjoy a good cross-galaxy space trek.

Of course, the reaction was so relentlessly negative, it saw Hello Games spend their hard-earned cash investing back into No Man's Sky, making it one of the most feature-complete modern RPGs in gaming. The version we now have is one with a mission contract board, base-building, various survival mechanics, drastically increased shooting and ship combat, and best of all, an actual story that takes you from place to place.

Hello Games also drastically touched up the graphics, tinkering with their various planet-generating formulae so you get a string of worlds that are always worth exploring and taking in. Yes, it tripped on its own shoelaces and face-planted the floor at launch, but No Man's Sky is finally the game you wanted, and it feels damn good.

There's even an exploration-focused multiplayer mode!
