20 Most Underrated Video Games Of 2016
15. Furi
Every now and then, there exists a game that really tests a player's mettle. For the majority of the decade it was the Dark Souls series (and Dark Souls III also came out this year), but there's one smaller-budget game that'll challenge every fibre of your primal cortex: Furi.
A timing and reaction-based top-down shooter that doubles as a side-on fighting game when you deal enough damage to a foe, Furi is a series of boss battles set across an epic, stylised sci-fi landscape.
Developers The Game Bakers give you a handful of moves including sword-swipes, dodges and gun-blasts, all of which can be charged for more offensive/defensive options. As the game ranks up the difficulty considerably, you'll need to genuinely perfect how to use and combine these moves to make it through.
It'll try and test your patience, break you down and beat you into the ground, but overcoming Furi is one of the most satisfying and personally rewarding titles you can ever experience.
