20 Predictions For 2017 Video Games' Metacritic Scores

16. Prey (85)

Red Dead Redemption Metacritic
Arkane Studios

Sure, a few critics will drop Prey a few notches for cynically co-opting the 2006 original's name while bearing few other similarities, but from what's been shown off so far, Prey looks like another well-crafted winner from Arkane Studios (Dishonored).

Considering that both Dishonored games scored in the high-80s to early 90s, even if we pessimistically assume that Prey isn't quite as unique and refined, a mid-80s score would be perfectly respectable.

Overall, praise will likely be fielded out at the graphics and inventive shape-shifting mechanics, but don't be surprised if the plot and characters aren't as developed as you'd hope for.
