20 Ridiculously Low Game Ratings You Won’t Believe

16. Creatures: 43

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1imdQ9xMBk Creatures is a life simulator. Similar to games like Seaman, or to some extent the Monster Rancher/ Monster Farm series. Originally released on the PC, it was pretty innovative at the time. In the game, you help to nurture and raise the Norns, little mogwai-ish lifeforms. They live in different environments, and live full lives under your care. Future generations inherit traits from their ancestors, and you can continue indefinitely. It did have a few flaws compared to it€™s PC iteration, such as a reduced number of Norns on screen at a time, and few environments. However, among other games in the PS1 library it€™s a pretty unique title; it's definitely not like anything else on the console. What did the reviewers say to give it such a low rating? That it was a "boring, monotonous game" with little to do. One review did criticize some cuts made for the PS1 adaptation, but it was rather harsh and again, not really looking at what it brought to the table for a PS1 owner at the time.
