16. Any Boss (Borderlands)
2K GamesBorderlands is a series that's all about satisfaction. It's crazy fun with a hugely entertaining storyline (especially in the second game) but it also fuels our desire to go out and become treasure hunters. Killing any boss in Borderlands will see them explode into a flurry of colours and items too - so running around and seeing exactly what you've earned is as big a thrill as killing the actual bosses themselves. Crawmerax the Invincible in the first Borderlands is a great example of this. He had an unbelievably large pool of health but when you'd finally bested him, searching through his loot to see if he'd dropped an ultra-rare Pearlescent weapon was just as exciting. Plus, thanks to animated introductions, Borderlands always managed to make boss battles seem extra exciting; very often, you'll feel like the world is against you and overcoming huge odds like that is always going to leave you feeling immensely satisfied. Or, it's all about the loot for you. That's fine, you self-indulgent, capitalist pig.
