15. Galactus (Marvel Vs. Capcom 3)
CapcomPick any fighting game up off the shelf and you can dive straight into the Arcade mode with little fear; you'll probably have seen the mode hundreds of times before. A series of fights against CPU opponents which gradually get harder, Arcade mode is a staple of the genre. It usually features a pretty tough boss battle to round things off too, though very few feature an opponent that has been described as The Eater Of Worlds. Galactus appears as the final boss of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and he's amazingly huge. The game tasks your team of three heroes/villains with defending the Earth from him (a fairly simple task, surely?) but his attacks can swiftly wipe your team out. The time limit is quite strict here too, preventing you from simply blocking continuously while waiting for an easy opportunity; you're going to have to take risks here. Of course, you could always spam projectiles with your support characters and make the fight trivial... but where's the sense of reward there? Beating Galactus with a hastily thrown together team is still an amazingly great reward which few fighting games can match.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
