20 Things RPGs Taught Us About Life

19. The World Waits For You

No matter the circumstances, even if the very fate of the world hinges on you intervening, it is perfectly acceptable to simply take a break and wander off into the distance to complete other tasks for several days before actually tackling the significant problem that's causing havoc to the world around you. Why bother stopping the big bad guy from exploding the world when you can wander through caves in search of naff treasure and spend a good hour or so bothering the local goats for no apparent reason?

18. Sometimes The Worst Ideas For Weapons Are Awesome

Before setting out on your adventure, there's a decision to be made; should you take the massive sword enchanted with fire, or perhaps opt for the equally epic ice bow or powerful mage staff you got for Christmas? Alternatively of course you could probably pick up a foam mallet, a megaphone, a ball used for recreational sports or something else equally mundane and be surprised to find that most of the monsters and aggressive denizens of the world you inhabit are particularly susceptible to utterly pathetic weaponry. For bonus points, why not just use your fists and brute strength to suplex a freaking train?
