Out of all the deaths witnessed in Alien: Isolation, the most hard-hitting is that of Ricardo, one of Amanda's only true allies encountered on the Sevastopol.

Unfortunately for Ricardo, he isn't able to make it out alive. When arriving at the area you're supposed to meet him ate in the game, he's discovered with a facehugger attached to his face. As grim as his fate was, he should count himself lucky, though, as his death was intended to be far more graphic.

As detailed by game writers Will Porter and Dion Lay, Ricardo was originally intended to be attacked by a facehugger earlier on in the game. This would culminate in a sequence reminiscent of Kane's (John Hurt) death where the newborn Xenomorph would force its way out of his insides.

This idea was dropped when the team realised that the timeline of events wouldn't line up correctly. They wanted to stay true to the rules of the original film, which implied it took at least 24 hours for the creature to be born after an unlucky victim is attacked by a facehugger.
