20 Things You Didn't Know About Uncharted

6. Why Charlie Cutter Disappeared Halfway Through Uncharted 3

The British tough-guy with a seemingly uncharacteristic fear of tight spaces, Charlie Cutter was first introduced in Uncharted 3 as Nate's latest ally.

The character had some of the funniest dialogue in the game and he was a huge bright spark in Uncharted 3's early sequences, so it was massively disappointing when he was abruptly written out of the story at the midway point.

While it would've been great to see him continue on in the game, there is, at least, a solid explanation for why he dropped out early.

Graham McTavish - the actor who played Cutter - managed to snag a role in Peter Jackson's Hobbit movies around the same time Uncharted 3 was in development, and as a result, his schedule became too crowded, and he could no longer accommodate his Uncharted commitments.

There were plans to include him in more of the game, but unfortunately, he was written out with a broken leg instead.

Cue the "Cutter got cut" jokes...

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
