7. Nate Almost Had A Role In Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

The most recent entry in the Uncharted series is The Lost Legacy, a spinoff centred on Nadine Ross and Chloe Frazer searching for the Tusk of Ganesh. It's a worthy addition to the franchise in pretty much every way, but still, it did feel a little bit strange to be playing an Uncharted game without the inclusion of Mr. Nathan Drake.

Barring a quick mention, he's absent from the game entirely, but at one point, Naughty Dog did consider giving their famous protagonist a supporting role in the game.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, writer Josh Scherr explained that the team toyed with a few ways of incorporating Nate into the game, but ultimately, they decided against it, feeling like Uncharted 4 was a perfect end for the character:

"We entertained a few possible ideas around including Nate as a secondary character, but everything we did felt superfluous because we tied it all up with Uncharted 4."

In addition to Nate, other Uncharted characters that almost played a role include Sully, Nate/Elena's daughter Cassie, and Charlie Cutter. And speaking of him...

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
