Rodney is hated by the Animal Crossing fans since he is depicted as a nosy neighbour at best and a creepy slime ball at worst. But even if you take away his terrible personality, it feels like this blue hamster was strategically designed to be the ugliest character in the series.

His glazed eyes, smug smile, pimply face, and pink tufty hair isn't going to win anyone over. Even his colours feel wrong since his maroon-and-white striped top conflicts with his teal fur. If Rodney had a personality transplant so he was the coolest guy in town, his horrid appearance would still turn off players to the point where they would go out of their way to avoid him.
