20 Video Games That Are About To Make A HUGE Comeback
12. Nioh 3
In Nioh, an English warrior allies with historical companions across a demon-infested Japan to save a guardian spirit. Team Ninja's Soulslike was praised for its imaginative combat, use of yokai mythos, and luscious design, which is why the masses were pining for a sequel.
However, Nioh 2 was prequel, so the aftermath of the original Nioh was never explored. For this reason, it's awesome to hear the long-awaited Nioh 3 will continue the story of the original while building on the foundations.
The upcoming follow-up introduces two combat modes, the devastating Samurai style and the evasive Ninja technique. You can swap between these combat modes, stopping players from being locked into one way of playing. Instead of following set missions, Nioh 3 highlights exploration, granting more emergent gameplay.
It's obvious Team Ninja got their priorities straight since they've insisted that perfecting the gameplay is more important than the aesthetic (even though the graphics are gorgeous.) Although the demo was applauded, the development team appreciated the feedback, indicating they're still improving on the project.
And if the beta is as good as it is, the final product should be sensational.
