In Total War: Warhammer III, you're in charge of fantastical armies, waging war against all manner of monstrosities and foes.

The success of your faction mostly lies in how well you command your armies during the many confrontations with your enemies, but this said, it's not the end of the world if some of your victories end up pyrrhic.

In fact, you actually want this to happen.

Each victory in the game is judged after the battle ends and is then categorized based on your casualties and the difficulty of the battle.

The best-case scenario, where your casualties are low despite powerful opposition, counts as a heroic victory, while high casualties in your army will usually result in a pyrrhic victory.

This can obviously leave your army crippled and vulnerable to further attacks (not to mention the stain on your pride for getting the worst possible victory). However, if you get several pyrrhic victories with the same lord, the game will eventually reward you for it with a secret trait!

Consistent bloodshed of friendly forces will grant you the Bloody character trait, increasing their health by 10% and up to 20% if you upgrade it with even more pyrrhic battles.

One army's loss is their lord's treasure.
