20 Video Games That Secretly Reward You For Failure
13. Endurance Training - Kenshi
Kenshi is a brutal simulation of a post-apocalyptic world in which you will be beaten up, slashed, and even enslaved by bandits who somehow look even more decrepit than you do.
Failure to overcome even the most basic enemies in the game is a guarantee at earlier levels, but whenever your character drops unconscious or half-dead after a battle, you shouldn't try to reload the game.
Because failure is secretly the fastest way to success.
Every battle, whether successful or not, gives your character experience points in their martial skills. This doesn't only include experience in effectively swinging their weapon of choice but also their endurance, which actually can only be increased by letting enemies deal damage to you.
Since endurance is responsible for making your character more resistant to damage and increases their pain threshold, you absolutely want to raise the skill to keep your characters in the fight for longer.
And since the only way to improve it is to lose some fights first, your only way to ensure your character won't bend like a straw at the tiniest bit of damage is to have them be beaten senseless multiple times first.
