13. Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver

Switching gears entirely to Crystal Dynamics, and a franchise that's been dormant for way, way too long. The Shakespearean drama that opened Soul Reaver made an impression powerful enough to write it into the history books immediately. Playing as the cast-out vampire Raziel, you set off to take revenge on the overlord Kain; a withered ancient ruler who elected to kill you for daring to pass him on the evolutionary ladder. The following puzzle-meets-hack n' slash combo of gaming is all presented through one hell of a Gothic filter.
