21 Best Character Debuts In Gaming History

18. Drippy (Ni No Kuni)

When was the last time you had a ruddy great Welshman in a leading role? Exactly. Even if you somehow managed to think of a human character, what about if they were a small, trinket-nosed half-bear...thing that talks in an incredibly thick accent throughout, whilst proclaiming themselves as the "Lord of the Fairies"? Hopefully now you're starting to realise just how special Drippy is to the Ni no Kuni adventure. Kuni is a wondrous tale that remains one of the most underrated RPGs of all time. A gorgeous little stat-cruncher with a bevy of perfectly animated fights and cutscenes, the transition of which is more sublime than that of the newly-unveiled The Order 1886 - which is currently doing the rounds in the "Oooh wow!" department following E3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CW5UYatNfx4#t=1012 Chances are you've already heard of Ni no Kuni thanks to the universally-loved animation house Studio Ghibli lending their prolific talents to bring everything to life, but sufficed to say that from the moment he appears to that of you switching the console off, Drippy is one of the most memorable minuscule characters since FF IX's Vivi.
