21 Most Replayable Video Games Of The 2000s

10. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

Is it possible to pick just one Metal Gear title? If you were one of those people who coughed up your hard-earned to obtain a copy of Zone of the Enders just for the MGS2 demo, chances are that initial Tanker section has been replayed more times than all the other games combined. However if we're to go for gameplay to cutscene ratio (goodbye MGS 4), as well as hidden ways to play, with thoroughly memorable boss-battles that require more than just holding down the fire button, it just has to be Snake Eater. From the opening gag that gives you a rubber mask of then-hated protagonist Raiden should you have chosen the option 'I like MGS2' from the opening menu, through to the genuinely heart-wrenching tale of mentor-turned-enemy The Boss, Snake Eater remains a game that gave you bucketloads of satisfaction first time through yet remains endlessly replayable for the sake of an almost never-ending list of secrets and things to see. Replay it specifically for: The completely unique tone that's yet to be replicated anywhere else. You'll go from nail-biting in-game tension as you pray you're concealed enough to let a wandering patrol pass, to marvelling at some truly beautiful graphics and enemies that look like they fell out of some crazy Bond villian-generator on overdrive in the cutscenes.
