How the mighty have fallen. Once the undisputed king of the racing simulation genre, Gran Turismo has in modern times become a bit of a footnote compared to other giants such as Forza.

However the classic game, the one that spawned an entire series which has sold millions of copies, is an absolute classic. This was a game that gave you access to 140 different cars, 11 different tracks and had excellent graphics for a PlayStation 1 game.

Gran Turismo is the first time, for many, that you felt the real thrill of racing from behind the wheel. Before this, games with such realistic driving experience were few and far between (whereas nowadays you can't move for games with driving mechanics).
