It's been a whole six years since any Beyond Good and Evil 2 footage showed up at E3, even though Ubisoft did confirm at last year's show that it was still in development. It was presumed that the game's creator, Michel Ancel, was working on BG&E2 alongside his new title, Wild, though reports emerged during E3 that this possibly wasn't the case, after an interview with Tony Key, Ubisoft's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, who seemed to skirt around talking about Ancel's involvement. Ubisoft have since offered a rather non-committal statement rubbishing the reports, but given the game's near-vaporware status, it's tough to really see this as more than a calculated PR move. Don't be surprised if the game is quietly cancelled some time in the near future, or just continues to live on as a phantom entity this time next year.
