25 Best Sega Games Of All Time - RANKED

15. Daytona USA

Yakuza game
Sega

If you've been in an arcade, you've seen a cabinet for Daytona USA in some form or another. This classic racing game quickly became a staple of arcades everywhere following its release in 1993, and there's a very good reason why.

First of all, there's the actual arcade cabinet itself. The standard version featured dual seats, side by side, actual steering wheel controllers, pedals and simulated the look and feel of being inside the stock car you drive in Daytona. Sitting down at cabinet, with a friend, and blitzing through these tracks will forever be a fond memory of most arcade gamers everywhere.

Then there's the actual game. Released in 1994, it ran at a full 60 frames per second and gave players a breakneck, authentic racing experience (including the ability to drift and power slide) with a technique known as smooth filtering ensuring that the driving experience was as silky smooth as possible by filtering textures.

If you could find a deluxe cabinet, Daytona USA was even better. The cabinet included more details seats with subwoofers underneath them, to really fill the thrill of the race as you played.
