25 Best Selling Video Games Of All Time - Ranked

13. New Super Mario Bros. Wii

Sales: 29.32 million (#11)

Verdict: A classic, 2D Mario game with modern visuals was always going to be a recipe for success, and though it shamelessly milks fans' nostalgia for the original titles, it also boasts enough innovation to feel like more than a lazy update.

The use of motion controls allows Mario to interact with the maps like never before, but the real coup here is the addition of multiplayer, allowing up to four players to ramble across maps together, more often than not resulting in some hilarious calamities. On the downside, the graphics were just OK even upon release, and the overall difficulty feels toned down a little, likely in order to appeal to more casual gamers, where the Wii is their first-ever console.

If not quite the Earth-shattering title fans were hoping for, it's still terrific to see Mario back in vintage style, but with a slicker coat of paint.
