25 Best Selling Video Games Of All Time - Ranked

2. Grand Theft Auto V

Sales: 52 million (#4)

Verdict: Returning a number of features missing from GTA IV while revisiting the beloved San Andreas expanse, GTA V feels like one of the most polished, innovative and "complete" sandbox games ever made. As if a cinematic, action-packed story wasn't enough, Rockstar really pushed the boat out with a character-switching dynamic which has likely changed the series forever.

In addition, a more comprehensive online multiplayer component abounded (even if it ultimately proved rather underwhelming), and for those who held out for the Remastered next-gen or PC version, first-person play was finally added to the mix. Even if it still probably doesn't boast quite as much content as San Andreas, there's such an overwhelming amount of stuff to do here that it's tough to imagine anyone getting bored.

From the incredible voice acting to the graphics, story, improved gunplay and button-pushing controversy, GTA V is without question one of the greatest games ever made.
