25 Best Selling Video Games Of All Time - Ranked
18. Nintendogs
Sales: 23.96 million (#19)
Verdict: Who ever thought that a sim game focused around caring for a dog could be this fun and addictive? The real kicker here is the use of every little trick the DS has up its sleeve, from using the stylus to stroke your dog, to shouting commands at the DS microphone to teach the pup how to behave.
While a few of the activities do end up on the slightly tiresome side, there's a clear reason Nintendogs appealed to so many: it had impressive visuals (for the time), and built a bond between player and canine that had them coming back day after day without fail. In capitalising on a hole in the video game market, Nintendo created their own Tamagotchi for a new generation.
