Throughout most of the mayhem and madness of the Metal Gear franchise, Solid Snake has been the anchor. A clone of FOXHOUND founder Big Boss, Snake is highly intelligent, exceptionally skilled in both combat and stealth, and fluent in multiple languages.

Thanks to his many exploits, Solid Snake has built up a reputation as a man who can get anything done, thus nicknamed "the Man Who Makes the Impossible Possible." He has defeated many incarnations of the Metal Gear, and thus avoided nuclear disaster numerous times.
