25 Most Criminally Underrated PS2 Games Of All Time
3. Psychonauts
Thankfully, creatives like Tim Schafer have enough in the bank to produce sequels to even their most flattest of releases. As such, we'll be getting a Psychonauts 2 at some point, but the original is already a standout platformer in every respect.
Its premise casts you as Raz, a trainee 'Psychonaut' who invades other peoples' minds and plays around in their subconscious. Military generals have war levels, the more creatively-minded will have circus tents and fireworks - you get the idea. Almost all of it takes place at Whispering Rock Summer Camp, where you'll have to use your abilities to solve a mysterious evil plot, hopping between every character's mind and unearthing what's within.
Schafer and his team at Double Fine are some of the best writers in the business, and it's a continued shame that this shiniest of gems hasn't been played by far more people.
