25 Most Criminally Underrated PS2 Games Of All Time

20. Ultimate Spider-Man

Like leaping off tall buildings and catching yourself at the last second, only to whizz through ground-level traffic and emerge pirouetting through the sky? You're probably thinking of the Spider-Man 2 movie tie-in game that did this thing first, but it was Ultimate Spidery that arguably did it better.

By combining the vibrant art style of the comic, Spidey took on a more elasticated and elongated form, making for a more startling display of athleticism and heroic crime-fighting in action. Better than that, you could swap over to Venom whenever you liked, marking the first time the character has been available in an open-world game. And yes, you can run amok, gobbling up civilians and sapping their life-force to replenish your own.

More brutal moves and face-pounding was reserved for the latter, but it was a fully cel-shaded open-world version of New York that just begged you to explore every nook, cranny and rooftop within.
