"Scary" isn't exactly the first word that comes to mind when you think of Halo, is it? Well, considering that the classic FPS has you controlling one of the biggest badasses in the galaxy, there's not a whole lot that could stand up to the Master Chief. Elites, Brutes, Hunters - they're all mere cannon fodder for Master Chief to unload reams of hot lead into. So when you're tasked with locating the missing Captain Keyes in "343 Guilty Spark" you'll be forgiven for assuming that it's all business as usual as you descend further and further into the bowels of the facility. Well, it quickly becomes clear that something's up the second you stumble across a crazed marine who opens fire on you in a room splattered with blood - and that's what's brilliant about this moment - there's a palpable sense of impending doom that only grows stronger with every trail and battered corpse you discover. It all reaches a crescendo when you finally come upon footage detailing the last moments of the soldiers scattered about the facility, leading to the parasitic species' grand entrance as they, true to their namesake, burst through the doors and pour into the room in an overwhelming deluge of snapping tendrils.
