It's not enough to suffer the unimaginable anguish of cradling a dead wife and child, but on top of everything else, the dude's got to dream about it every time he so much as closes his eyes. As you can imagine, something as horrific as the death of an infant doesn't make for a particularly fluffy thing to play through, which makes the actual experience of living out Max's nightmares all the more unsettling. The sound design plays an integral role here as the baby's cries provide a compass of sorts with which to navigate your way through the seemingly unending maze of hallways, and as you move closer and closer to your goal, the baby's cries reach near-deafening levels. Once you FINALLY make it to the end, you're rewarded by the sight of an upturned crib splattered with blood. How.Absolutely.Delightful.
