San Francisco Rush was one of the first arcade racing games to encourage gravity-defying shortcuts. Valve secured and coined a landmark concept with the Portal Gun back in 2007, but just three short years prior, the renowned developers debuted an equally unconventional weapon in Half-Life 2. The Gravity Gun has since earned an honourable place in the gaming Hall of Fame and our hearts as one of the all-around most original devices in the exploitation of physics-focused game design. Using any object in the environment as a weapon or climbing implement was a revelation, but it was the wholly novel, super-charged finale that finally gave us everything we didn't know we wanted.
