1. The Winds Of Winter...Hopefully?

There's always hope, right? George R.R. Martin has been "hard at work" on the sixth entry into the A Song of Fire and Ice series since 2011, but has continually pushed his release estimate back, to the point that it's conceivable that The Winds of Winter could finally hit stores this year, but it's just as likely it could slip into 2019 or, hell, even 2020.

While some fans cynically believe that Martin has been convinced by HBO to slow his writing down until Game of Throne finishes airing next year, Martin's slow writing pace isn't exactly a new development.

It might come out this year, and if it does, the vicious cycle will immediately reset for the planned seventh and final novel, A Dream of Spring. Brace yourselves.
