27 Biggest WTF Moments In Resident Evil History

26. Jill Valentine, The Master Of Unlocking (Resident Evil 1)

The original Resident Evil is infamous for its awkward dialogue, so much so that in 2008 it was awarded €œWorst Game Dialogue Ever€ in the Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition. To be fair, that might be a little harsh, especially considering the fact that Resident Evil has always felt purposefully cheesy, and the terrible dialogue just comes part and parcel. With that said, there are several lines in Resident Evil that just can€™t go ignored, lines that are just so poorly written that they make you wonder who could have possibly thought they were a good idea. One such line comes early on in the first game: after being handed a pair of lockpicks, Barry Burton will say €œJill, here's a lockpick. It might come in handy if you €“ the master of unlocking €“ take it with you€. I mean, is he being sarcastic? Is Jill really a master of unlocking things? Is it an in-joke referencing something that happened one time back at S.T.A.R.S HQ? What€™s going on?!
