3 Ways Uncharted 3 Let Us Down

3. Poor Marketing

Here's something you weren't expecting... someone complaining about the marketing? Well, every trailer managed to spoil the game in some way. Think of the 4 biggest set pieces of Uncharted 3. The château, the cruise ship, the plane and Nate getting lost in the Rub Al Kali. All were revealed during the marketing. In fact, video walkthroughs were available for each of these sections before launch, leaving only the filler content left for us to discover. While the filler is excellent, I feel like I have seen all the amazing things the game has to show me before I'm even in the store with it in my hand. The worst offender here is the desert section. Chapter 18/22 as the games reveal trailer isn't a wise move, and left no mystery as to where Nate's journey would take him. Let's play spot the spoiler; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zN3rj6YemkI They managed to weave all of the aforementioned moments into one trailer. How does this leave anything new for players to see? It's really an unwise move. I really wanted to love Uncharted 3, but couldn't. There is more I could complain about here. Multiplayer that is too balanced, bullet sponge enemies, one hit kills even on easy and forced melee combat sections aren't good and while I could still enjoy the story of U3, even that wasn't any good. It's a shame because Uncharted 2 sits in my favourite games list, very high up. What did you think, though? Did Drake's Deception destroy Among Thieves or is it a treasure not worth hunting? Let us know.
