30 Classic SNES Games You Must Play Before You Die
15. Mega Man X
Mega Man's legacy began on the NES but with six releases in seven years, the series was growing increasingly stale.
Enter Mega Man X, the first in the series to be released on the SNES. Without radically changing the series, Mega Man X gave it a new lease of life, adding fresh ideas like wall jumping and climbing to ensure fans were given something new without alienating them too much.
Some have complained about the difficulty being too low (the series is known for being ball-bustingly hard) but there's little else to criticise; Mega Man X is how you update a series without throwing everything out the window.
