30 Classic SNES Games You Must Play Before You Die
13. F-Zero
Super Mario Kart may be king of the SNES racers but F-Zero is great in it's own way. Based on a futuristic version of Formula One, F-Zero is known for two things - amazing pseudo-3D graphics and blistering speed.
The use of Mode 7 in the game was widely lauded, as it allowed the game to look more realistic than any SNES game had a right to. The speed of the game is unbelievable too; it's challenging to stay on the track but it's immensely exhilarating.
Practicing the various tracks and memorising every curve and turn was essential to become a great F-Zero player; fans were willing to put in that level of dedication because the game is so freaking fun.
