Before Arkham Asylum developer Rocksteady were barely known in gaming circles, they're now coming out of this year's E3 being the keeper of one of the most anticipated games of all time in next year's Arkham Knight. Asylum came out of nowhere back in 2009 and proceeded to wipe the floor with every previous superhero game to that point, featuring a revolutionary combat system that took the room-emptying slaughter of Assassin's Creed's best moments and tying it to an animation system that was even tighter than Batman's new suit. Every punch landed with incredible force, and if you were about to be ganged up on, countering your way to freedom was only a few button-pushes away. Add to that the flipside of that game's coin and the you had some extremely fun stealth encounters that revolved around you instilling fear in a gang of goons before stringing them up around any given level and continuing to explore the Asylum to your heart's content.
