3. Microsoft Fires Shots At Sony For Lack Of Backwards Compatibility

Microsoft scored a major win during their press conference when they made the shock announcement that the Xbox One was going backwards compatible, allowing all digital games from the Xbox 360 to show up in the Xbox One's game library as they're added over time, and even physical discs will work too: just put your Xbox 360 disc in your Xbox One, and a digital version will be downloaded. The kicker? It's free. The wording of the company's announcement was very specifically a shot at Sony's paid PlayStation Now service, saying, "We won't charge you to play the games you already own", which was naturally met with rapturous applause and Tweets of "SHOTS FIRED!" It's a fantastic PR move for the company, and gave them a sure leg-up over Sony right out of the gate.
