Bethesda and Arkane didn't just announce the widely-expected Dishonored 2 at E3, but also confirmed that this time players have the option of playing as a female protagonist, and not just any female, but the first game's rightful heir to the throne of the Isles, Emily Kaldwin, now all growed up. Many initially believed that the game had a mandatory female protagonist given Emily's prevalence in the first trailer reveal, though it was later confirmed that you can also play as Corvo Attano, a male assassin. As democratic as the gender choice seems, that didn't stop Anita Sarkeesian from summarily crapping the bed over it anyway. So, to clarify, Dishonored has a female counterpart, and that's super-cool, just unexpected.
