Doom kicked off Bethesda's press conference with a bang, demonstrating the severe leap in gore the series has taken. In this new game, you'll be able to rip out hearts, punch heads clean off, tear our limbs and use them as weapons (and also to open handprint consoles), split enemies clean in two with the Super Shotgun, effortlessly slay beasts with the Super Chainsaw, perform a flying curb-stomp onto an enemy's head, and even rip a certain monster's chest organ out and shove it down their throat, making them explode. This new, bloody Doom has certainly had a mixed reception online, with some proclaiming it to come across as all style and no substance, while others had issues with the overt gore. Either way, if you're a fan of spraying the red stuff, Doom looks like it's going to be a wild ride, and certainly messier than anyone could have possibly expected.
