4 Reasons Why the Watch Dogs Delay is a Good Thing

4. Less Competition

Battlefield 4 One of the biggest problems with games coming out in during the holiday season (which has now engulfed October, November, and December in the US) is that tons of other games are usually coming out at the same time. The launch of a new generation of consoles has thinned out the launches considerably though; aside from Call of Duty, Battlefield, Assassin's Creed, an XCOM expansion, and a whole slew of first party titles that might not appeal to anyone, there doesn't seem to be a lot of games to worry about. But then you remember that GTA V came out a few weeks ago and is huge time sink, plus all those other games (besides maybe XCOM and the first party stuff) have a huge following and will get tons of sales. And let's not forget about however many hours of multiplayer you might be sucked into. Do you really have time for another big open world game in your life right now? To be fair, moving the game back opens up a lot of risk, especially with stronger next gen competition showing up after Christmas. But with a revised launch window that goes into June, Ubisoft has plenty of time to maneuver Watch Dogs into a release date that gives it a lion's share of attention.
