4 Video Games That Prove The Review System Is Broken

3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Modern Warfare 3 Cover Art Revealed 600x300 Metascore: 88 I am not at all a fan of Call of Duty, but I can appreciate it's place in gaming. One of the best selling video game franchises of all time, Call of Duty's yearly iterations are the main reason for a rather bulky amount of 'shooter fatigue' among many gamers. Regardless of anyone's stance on Call of Duty though, it is clear that Modern Warfare 3 is a rather dull instalment. A 6 hour campaign that focuses on non-interactive visual spectacle ('look the Eiffel Tower is falling down... over there!') and a multiplayer that is merely fine add up to a game that was hoping so much to be exciting that it forgot to add any actual excitement. Yes, Modern Warfare 3 does have some interesting plot points but the fact that it came after Black Ops (everyone's new favourite COD series) made it feel like a back-step. But it was a Call of Duty game. So it got rated highly. And everyone bought it.
