24. Battlefield 3 (PS3, 360)
This game was great because of its insane attention to detail and amazing graphics. I don't usually enjoy FPS games, because, well, I don't see the purpose or satisfaction in pointless murdering; I've never been one for war, but this game gave me a choice. So, instead of killing people, I captured bases. I'd stealthily sneak in, take the base and leave, but what made this game so fun was all the vehicles. Last time I checked, MW3 didn't have tanks you could just jump into and drive. As you can see, I like BF3 a lot more than MW3. Another great aspect of the game is all the destructible environments; when a door is blocked by an enemy tank, you can simply pull out an RPG and blast a hole in the wall.
Best Part: Destructible environments! Tanks! Helicopters! Destructible environments!
23. Assassin's Creed (PS3, 360)
The first of many AC games on the list. This game started the craze of killing people in a medieval way. Not only did our nine-fingered protagonist kill any foe in his path, but he also introduced us gamers to one of the best things ever: the hidden blade. There's a reason why I didn't group this game together with all of the Assassin's Creed games, and that's because each AC game brought something new to the table and deserves to be judged solely on its own merits as opposed to the other titles in the group. For example, I found Assassin's Creed: Revelations to be a terrible game and would never put it on this list, while Brotherhood is the exact opposite. I'll give more reasons for why the Assassin's Creed franchise is so much fun in just a little bit (see: Assassin's Creed II).
Best Part: Virtual free-running! Although limited in the first installment of Desmond's story, the parkour was still loads of fun.
