40 Most Entertaining PlayStation & Xbox Games Of All Time

14. Mass Effect Series (PS3, 360)

Mass Effect Do you like sci-fi? Do you like RPGs (no, not rocket-propelled grenades)? If so, then the Mass Effect series is for you. While keeping its action/adventure-centered gameplay running strong, this series gave the player a chance to make several important choices such as: yelling at a team-mate or using your inside voice. All jokes aside, the Mass Effect series is a good lot of fun and is best played through all the way. Decisions and choices that players make in Mass Effect 1 will have an effect in the second as well as third games, which is exactly why they all share one save file. Although owners of the Xbox have had access to all three titles for quite a while, PlayStation users have only gotten Mass Effect 2 and 3. This all changed a few months ago when a bundle pack was announced that finally allowed owners of the PS3 to enjoy the series. If you're a PlayStation guy (like me) and have been looking for a good series to begin, I recommend you start here. Best Part: The extended edition DLC of Mass Effect 3. After finishing the story, I was experiencing three emotions at once: confusion, anger, and frustration. Needless to say, the ending was not all that great. After pouring days of my life into three separate games, I got an ending that was nowhere near that level of greatness. Luckily, the developers released a new ending that was much better than the original. I guess it's not really the "best part", but it's the best way to turn around a bad situation.

13. The Last Of Us (PS3)

The Last Of Us Possibly the finest game to be released in 2013, The Last Of Us is a great way to bring this generation to an end. It had the perfect amount of familiarity for players of Naughty Dog's other big game franchise, Uncharted, while still providing gamers with the thrills that we'd expect from a sort-of-horror game. Despite my extreme fear of clickers, infected and zombies in general, I enjoyed playing through the story (on easy mode, of course). Now, I know what you're thinking. "Sure it's a great game, but how is it exactly fun?" Much like Naughty Dog's other game on this list, Uncharted 3, it was made to be enjoyable, but always taken seriously. Now, that isn't to say that they're not fun games. See, the fun of games like this comes from the experience. Let me explain my reasoning, because this will come into play in several other titles below. This article is based on my experiences of the games, and this game's was truly fun. I played through the ten+ hour story with a group of friends and, even though horror games always did scare me (and this one still did), I had fun playing it in that environment. From funny comments to scary ones, if you haven't played through The Last Of Us yet, I recommend doing so immediately and with a group of good friends. Best Part: It would have to be the story. Man, does Naughty Dog know how to keep me on edge. The game felt real, even though I only played three or four hours' worth before switching with someone. Still, I was Joel and I cared for Ellie, and then I was Ellie and I cared for Joel... and then I was a gamer and I cared for them both. That wasn't too spoilery was it?
